EpiSci initially worked with a competitor but faced persistent issues with reliability, a closed ecosystem, and limited support. Event 38 stepped in, delivering seven aircraft and assisting with the integration of EpiSci's mission intelligence software and a third-party payload. Event 38 then supported four test and demonstration events, ensuring smooth performance and successful system integration throughout.
Event 38 partnered with the Ohio Federal Research Network, The Air Force Research Lab, Honeywell, Kent State University, and The University of Dayton to develop and demonstrate the propulsion of a fixed wing VTOL UAS by a hydrogen fuel cell. The resulting aircraft demonstrated a 3.3x increase in flight time while flying almost silently at just 400′ AGL.
Event 38 was tasked with integrating a magnetometer payload onto the E455. The open protocol payload bay made integration quick and easy — demonstrating the flexibility of our modular aircraft architecture for specialized sensor applications.
Event 38 was selected to design and build an eVTOL for carrying a highly specialized quantum physics payload. This aircraft can lift a 150lb payload and is impressive in size at 11′ × 11′ with an all-up weight of 600lbs — one of the largest custom builds in our history.
Event 38 regularly teams up with universities and industry leaders on cutting-edge research projects. We're open to hearing how we can collaborate on research efforts — from SBIR/STTR/OFRN partnerships to custom payload development.
