Let’s discuss what we need to do before heading out to the field to collect imagery with our E386.
Designate the Windows Laptop that you will be carrying in the field. Download Mission Planner for Event 38.
Using Mission Planner, go to the Flight Plan screen and cache the maps you want to see during your flight. The Easiest way of finding the location where you would like to survey is by searching for the GPS Coordinates.
In the example above the gps coordinates of my home location are set to the area to be surveyed. Mission Planner will automatically move to the desired location.
Next By using either the scroll wheel on a mouse or the zoom slider on mission planner we will cache maps at different zoom levels.
Now plug in the ground side telemetry radio into the laptop that will be used in the field.
Wait until the drivers have been successfully installed. Make sure your laptop is charged or that you will have a power supply in the field.
Check that all of your batteries are fully charged; Flight Batteries, Quanum Transmitter batteries, and the camera battery.
